How we build and check calculators
Every calculator follows the same process, so you can see how a result was produced and how current it is.
A written specification
Each calculator starts with a specification: its inputs and limits, the formula, timing (for example payments at the start or end of a month), compounding, rounding and outputs. The formula and assumptions are shown on every calculator page.
Independent test values
Before a calculator is published, its results are checked against values worked out independently: published reference examples, a second method (such as a month-by-month simulation), or hand calculation. These checks run automatically every time the site is built.
Named review and review dates
A named reviewer approves each calculator and any official rates it uses. The "Last reviewed" date appears on the page, and each calculator has a next-review date. The site cannot be published while a review is overdue.
Regional formats and rates
Amounts follow the number and currency format of your region. Region changes never convert your amounts with exchange rates; example values are chosen per currency. Country-specific rates are used only when reviewed, with the source and effective date shown; otherwise you enter the rate yourself.
Precision and rounding
Calculations use full precision and round only for display, so small differences from providers that round at each step are expected.
Reporting a mistake
If a result looks wrong, contact us at calculators@haatbeat.in with the inputs. We check every report and correct confirmed errors.
